54. Belgrade music festivals – BEMUS

Belgrade music festivals are eagerly awaited by the audience every autumn, welcoming famous artists of today’s world classical music scene. At four locations in Belgrade – in the Kolarac Endowment, the Belgrade Philharmonic Hall, the Cathedral Church of St. Archangel Michael and Parish of St. Anthony of Padua – great musicians will be introduced, such as bass-baritone Bryn Terfel, pianist Ivo Pogorelić, violinist Bomsori Kim, pianist Martín García García, Choir “Madrigal – Marin Constantine” from Romania and many others. Special attention is drawn to the series of chamber music concerts that take place in the hall of the Belgrade Philharmonic.

The first chamber evening was opened by the cellist Nemanja Stanković in cooperation with the prominent Italian pianist Marino Formenti, and the proof of mutual cooperation with Novi Sad, more precisely the Novi Sad musical festivities, is the performance of the Novi Sad Chamber Ensemble. When it comes to chamber music, the “Diffractions” String Quartet will also present itself to the audience with an interesting repertoire. The “Viva Mjuz” ensemble performs on November 8 with a program of baroque music, and this cycle of chamber concerts will close on November 14 with the Slovenian accordionist Marko Hatlak with the “Funtango” ensemble.

The two free concerts stand out because of their special locations. In the Cathedral Church of St. Archangel Michael, the RTS Choir will perform under the leadership of maestro Bojan Suđić, and a day later, the famous violinist Gordan Nikolić will perform a program of Bach suites and sonatas for solo violin in the Parish of St. Anthony of Padua.

Although we are witnessing very turbulent and unstable times, it is encouraging to know that Bemus manages to maintain its quality, confidence and unfetteredly present good content to the audience in the performance of today’s renowned artists. Following and adapting to the modern spirit of today’s time, the organizers manage to maintain traditional values, as well as a colorful palette of different musical genres, allowing everyone to find something for themselves. If you haven’t yet, you can fill your autumn day with a visit to one of these concerts.
